Hi again everyone
just an update on the 'solid breast'. I saw the mum today after her visit to
the breast surgeon - he drained the abscess again and intends to do it again
on Thursday. The breast is far less inflammed now, considerably less swollen
but still very hard. The baby can latch at least - she can even poke out her
tongue at dad now following the tongue being snipped and lots of practice!
there is still very little milk flow. We did the reverse pressure trick but
got a little response plus used the vibrator.
the plan for now is to keep massaging, applying heat, using the supply line
to keep babe at breast, at least there is some evidence of ducts clearing as
I saw evidence when I did the reverse pressure.
Thank you to all who have sent me ideas and good wishes - this really is a
fantastic support network and the mum is really impressed at the way we all
support each other
Jenni
