I have a pregnant client who is 32 weeks pregnant.  She has been on Maxide for
the past 14 years (excluding the first trimester).  I have been unable to get
any current information on this drug.  It is Hydrochlorothiazide and
triamterene.  This is the only medication they have found in the past several
years that controls her Hypertension and water retention.  I know the
Hydrochlorothiazide is safe but do not have information on the triamterene.
Is this drug safe while BF?  Mother desperately wants to BF but FP saying not
safe.  They used Albutterol W/ Lopressor during the first trimester and did
not feel this was adequately controlling her Hypertension and water retention.
Appreciate any help any one can give!
