Hi Alexis,

My son's Dr. had similar recommendations when my son was a toddler,
even though my son never had a weight problem. She wanted to know if he
drank at least 2 cups of cow's milk each day. When I replied that he did
not, she strongly recommended that I significantly reduce the nursing,
particularly at night, until he drank more milk.

I chewed on that one for a while before I decided that in my opinion
human milk had to surpass cow's milk, and disregarded her advice. (Hmmm,
reduce the perfect of-his-own-species milk, and substitute milk from a farm
animal - made no sense to me). That was about the same time I started
searching for a new doctor.

My son didn't eat really well until he was around two. But he has
always been large for his age, and I believed him to be very healthy. Now,
at almost 4, he eats everything - no exaggeration, I can't think of one food
he dislikes - and a lot of it.

Just an anecdote, but it worked out for us.
Laurena
