Greetings,

Minnesota residents please take note:

URGENT LEGISLATIVE ACTION ALERT! HELP NURSING MOTHERS IN THE WORKPLACE!

The Nursing Mothers bill is on its way to the Governor's desk. Please call
him to ask him to sign it into law. The Governor is looking for bills to
veto to break the all-time veto record. Calls of support will make a
difference!

All you need to do is call his office: Governor Arne Carlson, 612- 296-3391.
Leave this message: Please sign the Nursing Mothers bill, Senate File 2751,
into law.

What the bill does:
*Requires employers to provide reasonable unpaid break time to new
mothers for the purpose of expressing their breast milk. Employers
do not have to do this if it would unduly disrupt their operations.
*Requires employers to make reasonable efforts to make a private
space available in or near the workplace in which to express their
breastmilk. Employers who do not do so will be "held harmless."
*Makes clear that breastfeeding is not indecent exposure under the
 criminal laws.

For further information, call bill sponsor Senator Ellen Anderson at
612-296-5537.

THANK YOU!!
