SIDS is prevented by breastfeeding and the Family Bed (intentional caps).

It is not eliminated by these two crucial things but they are far more
important than "back to sleep" campaigns and so on.  Conventional American
parenting encourages parents to "disconnect" from their infants.  This is
dangerous

I have never had a crib death in 23 years in private practice.  I'm good, but
not THAT good.  It's just that virtually every family I see breastfeeds their
babies and co-sleeps.

Please don't let parents lose sight of the best ways to prevent SIDS.
