I like Dr. Newman's suggestions. They are close to what I've been using. The
really frustrating thing is that this important aspect is virtually untouched
in the pediatric literature. I checked texts and did a lit search on medline
and cinahl. Pooh.

Lots of newborns void in the labor and delivery area before they are
introduced to computer-age diapers. Check L&D forms-- some include a place to
note voids but others don't. Seems like even a new person's kidney's should
be putting out a few times a day from the get-go--even if it's concentrated.

I still say those radiant warmers should be thoroughly investigated for the
degree of water lossed via evaporation and the subsequent effect on urinary
output.

New soapbox--better get off...!
