Now I know where the inconsistent understanding over self-referral comes from.  I had not seen that article.

I wonder what made LLL change its direction on this issue?  I have always felt my hands to be tied in this type of sitiation.  I am glad to know that I have the flexibility to self-refer when appropriate.

If anyone can post a similar publication that covers the issue of liability coverage that is more clear than what I provided, I would be very grateful.  In the mean time, I am going to assume that I was wrong about that, too.

At least now I know that if a LLL mom needs my expertise, I can offer it to her as an IBCLC.  In the past I have had moms who found my name through LLL and wanted my services as an IBCLC whom I refused to charge or referred on due to my misunderstanding.
