Robin: Yes, there seems to be a correlation between serum DHEA and milk
production. In moms with low DHEA (age adjusted) milk production is low
and slow. When supplemented with oral DHEA, there not only is a measurable
increase in serum DHEA, but also a perceived increase in milk production.
I say perceived because this is not from double blind RCTs and no
measurement of output other than wet diapers was used. And, from the
anectdotal files...several moms have reported squirting milk (when they
hadn't previously) and get this--an enlarged cervix (6 case reports).
