There seems to be a great deal of hesitation to use breast shells or cups or
the hoffman technique for inverted nipples at the hospitals I work with.
Partly because of the lack of evidence that they work and partly because of
the risk of inducing premature labor.

I have never heard of the niplette but it sounds interesting.

My curiosity on this issue is that nipples (and breasts) change dramatically
during a pregnancy and into lactation. Has there ever been a study that just
looks at this issue and tracks how many problems can actually be predicted
based on nipple appearance during pregnancy. How many of those perceived
potential problems can be headed-off by early, quality LC assistance?
