I have CINAHL access through school and work both but thank you for the
info!! Always handy to know where else I can go!

I really appreciate you sending me all of this stuff. This really is
something we are looking at in our unit. I spoke with one of the
developmental docs today who sees our NICU grads on a long term basis - she
is EXTREMELY breastfeeding friendly and wants to review all of this as well.
Perhaps with her on our side, we can get the message across to some of the
neos and NNPs as well.

You know in many areas of intervention where preemies are concerned it has
been discovered that much of the time we are better off leaving nature alone
to do it's own thing. I wouldn't be at all surprised if it were the case
with fortifiers!

Thanks Again,

Michelle

Subject: CINAHL (research articles)

If CINAHL is not accessible to you through a hospital or college, I believe
you can access CINAHL for a one time (annual) fee of $20 - go to
_www.cinahl.com_ (http://www.cinahl.com)

I like the fact that you can cross reference with this search device. For
example, you can ask for "breastfeeding" which comes up with over 7000
articles.
Then you can search "fathers", for example, which comes up with even more.
Then you can combine the 2 searches, which will give you only articles
containing BOTH topics!!

_www.medscape.com_ (http://www.medscape.com) will get you the Medline
search engine, which references more medical journals (CINAHL is primarily
nursing). Your college or hospital will have many, many more.

Hope this helps.
