Hi All,
My own personal opinion is that BF is not "just" a "milk" serving, it is full
nutrition and should be counted as such. Of course moms will know when it is
just a snack or a "meal". If it is a "Meal", then it should be counted as
containing all protiens, milk, vitamins, etc as it really does have all that
in it.
We all know of babies who have not been into solids until well after their
1st B-Day, and did just fine on exclusive BF. If we look at breastmilk in
the "older than 1 yr old" as only a "milk" serving, we will be doing an
injustice to the baby and the mom and to our own knowledge of the makeup of
breastmilk.
Breastmilk...It isn't just milk...It's a meal!
