My daughter started out with a milk supply to beat the band. She pumped 10 oz
to relieve her breasts on her 2nd postpartum day. She maintained a supply on
the high side until the baby was 3 months old. At that time her allergies
started bothering her so badly that she had to start allergy medicine. What
seemed to dry her milk up the least was Sudafed, and later she switched to
Sunsource Allergy Relief. Her milk supply is adequate for the baby, but she
is barely able to get anything when she pumps. She started fenugreek three
weeks ago, and saw an immediate response that quickly tapered off.

The baby is 4 months old and still being exclusively breastfed. My daughter
started working for three hours Monday through Friday when the baby was about
10 weeks old. With travel time she's away from the baby for 4 hours per day.
Although she feeds the baby just before she leaves, the little pumpkin often
needs 3 or 4 ozs before my daughter gets back home. She can barely pump
enough to keep more than a two bags of milk stored at a time. Any ideas?
Does Fenugreek work only temporarily?......Thanks, V. Nichols-Johnson, MD
