Hi Pat,
I had a mom with very sensitive nipples and gave brfdg pain a "10" on the
pain scale of 10 the worst and 1 the least.
There was no apparent latch problem and nipples looked normal after the
nursing. I used a shield and this brought the pain down to a "5" with latch
and nursing and mom could tolerate this. After a couple weeks she weaned
herself from the shield and was tolerating the brfdgs. She was also using
Ibuprofen 600-800mg every 6 hours.
