Hello to all, thought I'd let you all know that the problem of my
being too zealous for breastfeeding did not even come up in the interview! I
did not have to even watch what bridges I burnt!
Today I heard the news: I now have a permanent position!
Thanks again for your support and encouragement. Slowly but steadily I plan
to continue, with as much research as I can find to support our BF position
(no pun intended:>) and hopefully I can keep my big mouth shut at those
staggering times -- much empathy with you, Pamela! What I would like to do
is a cost benefit analysis comparing the inpatient costs of the breastfed
babes and AF babes and perhaps put in a proposal to employ me as an
official lactation consultant. The children's ward and obtetrics ward are
run as one unit so better breastfeeding success rates ought to impact
positively on the budget.
Much sympathy to all those in USA
affected so badly by snow and flood etc, I have a young brother travelling
around the States at present, can't help wondering how he is.
regards, Ruth Leon Registered Nurse Midwife IBCLC
