Jay, thanks for bringing up valuable points and frustrations and concerns...
You said:

"I have to comment on this. While I understand the need for such a rule, I
find it very sad that people can't even discuss a product by name without
risk of a lawsuit!"

The wording was "Avoid injudicious use of brand name", not avoid brand
names. And although we don't like it any better than you do, we live in a
society that is litigous. It is a fact. Real people have informed us that
there are suithappy companies at this very time watching for such
"injudicious" comments so that action may be taken. Even if you are
innocent, or me, or anyone else, it still COSTS to defend oneself.

" Whatever happened to free speech, the First Amendment?
Is this society really so sue happy that we can't even talk about a product
except in the privacy of our own homes? "

Again, we **can** talk about products, and drugs, etc. However, we must be
careful in how we state things. THis is not just a little group of people.
This is over 700 people here, and what is said here on Lactnet is public,
and can affect and influence how a large group thinks about a certain
product, etc. both negatively and positively.

" IMHO, anyone who threatens a lawsuit against someone for making a comment
about a
product is stupid and petty."

I wish it were different, but this is the way it is now in our society.

" That is what this forum is all about. Helping each other. "
Yes, that is what it is about! : )

"How can we help each other if our mouths/fingers are forced to NOT use a brand
name? "

Again, you may use brand names, but be judicious in your wording, etc, for
your own protection.

"(Jay) She who is sick of lawsiut happy idiots, censorship crazy idiots, and
idiots
in general."

Amen to that ! ; ) If anyone else cares to comment, or has concerns, please
share privately with me at [log in to unmask]

THANKS!

Kathleen
