I have cared for a woman who breastfed on the
unaffected side before the mastectomy, then after the
mastectomy until chemotherapy & radiation was started.
 I don't know what her long-term outcome was as I no
longer work in that institution.

I also have a friend who *after* breast cancer therapy
partially breast-fed twins on the side that was not
affected even though she had undergone a reduction to
help make her reconstructed breast and the
noncancerous breast match in size.  If she had not had
twins, she could have come close to providing all the
milk for 1 baby.  She did use galactagogues (reglan &
fenugreek that I can recall now 5 years after the
fact) to maximize milk volume.  She's now 8 years out
with no reoccurence of cancer.
