This was one of the tools I used in assessing women with nipple pain. I
found that women with pain also score as "depressed". (Amir et al.
Psychological aspects of nipple pain in lactating women. J Psychosom Obstet
Gynecol 1996; 17: 53-58.)
Perhaps a better term would be postnatal distress, as women in pain,
sleep-deprived, etc, will also score in the high range.
