Dear Virginia. I thank you for the post on 19th century reality for mothers
and babies in "civilized" societies.  I grieve for any mother and baby who
is mistreated, drugged, victimized, etc, and I work as you suggested, one
mother at a time. Otherwise, it is too overwhelming. Although your post was
hard to read, ie the reality of it is so horrific, I am glad to have the
clarification and the accurate information.

Appreciating your  (sobering) post.
