Dear wise ones,

Can someone out there answer this somewhat odd question for me. I am working
with a set of preemie twins born at 34 weeks now 2 weeks old. Paternal
grandfather is coming for a visit next week and is being treated for prostate
cancer with the radioactive pellets. Grandpa was told not to hold babies or
come within 4-6 feet of them. Is this necessary? Also could grandpa wear a
lead apron to protect the babies and still get some snuggle time? I can get
more information from the parents if needed. I can honestly say I've never had
this question before and don't remember it being up for discussion on lactnet.

Thanks,

Lori Werrell, BA, IBCLC, CIMI
