Maggie, any mom with lumps and pain that are not resolving with home 
remedies should see her physician. LCs can not diagnose and treat breast 
infections. Mom's areola problem may be that baby is not removing milk well 
and/or the clog is at the nipple. Many babies are fussy on the side that has 
an infection. (And some don't seem to care at all!) I will be watching to
