Jennifer Tieman's post reminds me of a woman who called and wanted
information about weaning her 4 week old baby. She had a huge supply. When I
told her that I would help her, she said that she would call me back. She
did, every 2 weeks or so to tell me she is considering weaning in the near
future and would call me back. 1 year later, I got a phone call, you quessed
it. She was still nursing and now wanted to really start weaning. She had
been very ambivelent about breastfeeding in the first place and felt
"pushed" into it. She told me, "I just needed to know that there was someone
who would help me if I decided to stop. I never saw her for this baby. But
when she had her second and had latching issues, she called me for a home
visit and was really committed to working on breastfeeding, which she did.
