Fellow Lactnetters & Lactivists:
As I read the paper this morning I was excited to see that Olympic star
Sheryl Swoopes is BF her son, Jordan Eric Jackson, who was born June 25.
But, alas, I read on to see that it was announced that "she'll probably
switch to bottles in three or four weeks." (Bottles of "what", it does not
say--is it too hopeful that it's EHM???) The Associated Press article really
played her up as mothering is #1, and her basketball career in the newly
formed WNBA (Women's National Basketball Association) was going to fit around
it. It also says that her son will travel with her, and if he gets sick, mom
will stay put with him. I would think the Houston Comets (her team) would
encourage her to BF if they want her at the games!!! Though the team is
doing well (9-5), winning 4 of their last 5 games! The article states her
home is in Lubbock, TX, and she played college ball at Texas Tech.
Any great BF advocates out there in Texas land have any connections, or
ideas??? What a great role-model she already is, and to think if we could
only keep her BF, .....or pumping.......
