Hi All,

I have permission to post.

I saw a mom today, pregnant with baby #4. She would like to breastfeed this
time, but in the past has not breastfed longer than a week because of pain
in her arms and legs while the baby is sucking. She says that she begins to
get sharp pain in her legs at about 20 weeks of pregnancy. During the
pregnancy the pain is at night or when she sits too long. She says the pain
comes for 15 seconds, followed by 3 seconds of no pain, 15 seconds of pain,
etc. (she said she times it). After the baby is born she gets the same pain
(including in her arms at this point) when the baby is latched
and actively sucking. As soon as the baby is done and unlatches the pain
stops. The pain is on the side that the baby is latched onto.
She experiences the same pain when pumping. She reports that she has talked
to her HCP, but that they did not know what it was.

Mom really wants to breastfeed this baby.

Any ideas?
