In some lectures and discussions on baby's poops and pees,
the focus is on optimum output. While it may be great for
experts to know what a perfect baby and well-blessed mother
can do, parents need simple minimums. Perhaps the health
care providers who check babies need them as well.
I always tell parents more output is better. Most useful
to parents are simple measures that mean baby is OK. Then
they need to know who to call to improve breastfeeding, if
baby isn't doing OK.
I fear optimums (what is best) will send off warning sirens
and formula bottles far too often.
