Hi Linda:

Hope you find the articles interesting. Re: your mother with lots of milk who
later was on suicide watch--think history of abuse (don't forget sexual
abuse--more common even than deomestic).

WHENEVER a client's story just isn't adding up, think abuse (past and/or
current). Watch mother-baby interactions--attachment difficulties/disorders
often go hand-in-hand with moms who may be depressed/preoccupied if such a
history. Depression, substance abuse, anxiety, eating disorders, etc. all
occur more often in women with abuse histories.
