Dear All, in response to Marie's request, here is an excerpt from our

The welcome message states:

AVOID INJUDICIOUS MENTION OF BRAND NAMES: Please refrain from the
injudicious use of brand names. In most cases, a generic term, such as
cylinder pump, bottle liner, rubber/silicone teat or pacifier/dummy,
semi-electric breast pump, fully automatic intermittent electric breast
pump, etc. will suffice to get your point across. If you wish to discuss or
obtain specific information about particular products, please USE PRIVATE
EMAIL.

The key word here, folks, is "injudicious." If you are referring to a
particular brand, and are making injudicious comments, then you are
responsible for those comments. We don't need to do A%$(t as that does make
people nuts. Just watch what you say, in terms of slamming products. I am
no expert on the legalities, folks, but I am *not* reviewing these
comments before they appear on Lactnet. So, in essence, all of your
comments are just that, ..."yours." If you can substitue "semi-electric
breastpump" and it makes your point, fine. If you mention a brand, keep it
civil, and know that you own your remarks. We, as listowners, merely make
the mechanics of the list run, as volunteers, and we are not responsible for
any slurs that are dealt out. We probably don't need to be cryptic. Like I
said, I am not a lawyer. Just be polite folks. Say "This is my opinion. I
think that the bla bla bla SuperDuper Boobometer is a great device, or a
terrible device, etc. My opinion only."
