Hi
I have worked with a couple of women who have received this medication for a
pituitary tumour and then planned a pregnancy. The medication itself is nto
the
problem. These two women both lactated well. There should be no problems with
lactation, I simply have contact with their endocrinologist and discuss when
the
plan is for the women to restart the Dostinex (carbergoline). As our local
endocrinologists support breastfeeding, they generally encourage breastfeeding
and only would suggest weaning if the woman started having problems related to
the high prolactin levels linked with the pituitary tumor.

 Subject: Dosinex

Does anyone have any experience with the drug Dosinex? I am wondering
about long term effects after stopping the drug? What effect it could have
on
a new breastfeeding experience several years down the road after the drug
 has been stopped?
