With my first child, I had 3 bouts of preterm labour at 28,29 and 30
weeks. I eventually had a caeser at 38 weeks for fetal distress. I
was still breastfeeding him when I fell pregnant again and he ended
up weaning when I was 16 weeks. (he was 17 months old). My
obstetrican advised that with my history of preterm labour, it would
be wise to wean him at 20 weeks, but he did it himself, thank
goodness. The obstetrican told me that preterm labour was the number
1 indication to stop breastfeeding whilst pregnant.
