I don't post often; I am a doula of 10 years, a doula trainer, and a CLE.

I don't remember seeing it listed on the things you said mom was using, but
is there a chance she's using Neosporin on her nipples? Or a triple
antibiotic with neomycin in it? A doctor recently told me that a huge
number of people are becoming allergic to this, and it results in skin
irritation, oozing, and blistering. This information was a God-send to me,
as my middle daughter was having these symptoms and I never thought to link
them to the Neosporin. He suggested using Polysporin instead, which is not
nearly so allergenic. It might be worth asking mom if she's using Neosporin
on her nipples, since she suspected infection.
