If you can stand some more data on soy formulas, here it comes.

-babies consuming soy can ingest 20-30 times more aluminum than babies who are
breastfed

-infants consuming soy formula can have circulating phytoestrogen levels
13,000-22,000 times higher than normal in early life

-supplementing the diet of a 4 month old baby with a single serving of certain
cereals each day can increase their daily intake of these plant chemicals by
over 25%

-babies fed soy can have a decreased immune response to their vaccinations. We
had an incident around here recently where twin babies were started out
breastfeeding, Mom switched to formula because nursing was too time consuming.
One of the twins did not tolerate the standard formula so a friend told the
mother to try soy formula. At 12 or 13 months the baby had been sick so much
and was diagnosed with H influenza (which she had been vaccinated for). When
they did a titre, lo and behold, surprise, surprise, no H influenza immunities
were in sight. The baby had to be re-vaccinated

-genetically engineered soy has been detected in several US soy formulas.
Transgenic ingredients pose the risk of introducing novel toxins, new
allergies, and increased antibiotic resistance. The FDA does not require
labelling of genetically engineered foods, so parents have no way of knowing
if they are feeding Round Up Ready soy bean food to their baby

Makes me want to work even harder to help mothers breastfeed
