Hello wise ones. I am writing to get some clarification and information on the opinions expressed a while back about using single user pumps for more than one person.

So that I am clear...the issues with allowing pumps to be used by different users are: 1.) risk of contamination 2.) pump suction may be different 3.) pump performance may decrease/not be optimal 4.) it is against manufacturer suggested use. Am I missing anything here?

If one used an FDA approved closed system tubing set that fit on the pump, the outside of the pump was cleaned well with hospital grade cleaning solution, pump was checked regularly with a gauge for pump suction, client was followed closely and warranty was not an issue...what would the issue with this practice be?

Thank you in advance for your input.
