Drugs in Pregnancy and Lactation, Fifth Edition (Briggs, Freeman, Yaffe):
Based on its low molecular weight, excretion of phentermine into milk should be
expected.  Because central nervous system stimulation and other adverse
reactions may occur in a nursing infant exposed to this drug in milk,
breastfeeding should be considered a contraindication if the mother is taking
phentermine.
Even if the mother is able to locate this medication, I personally feel that the
mother should not mess with it if she is going to breastfeed.
