Thank you all so much for the replies I have gotten. I want to
clarify a few things, because I must not have explained them well.

There was definitely no stimulation on Days 1 and 2, but starting on
Day 3, she nursed 8 times in 24 hours for 30 min typically. On Day
4, her right breast felt sore, so she only nursed on the left, and
did not pump the right until I got there on Day 5 (15 hours since her
last nursing on the right). Output from the nursed-on breast was
still extremely low, lower even then the non-nursed-on breast. Baby
nursed approximately 6 times from the left side on Day 4, and got
15-20 mL formula by bottle the other times (I can't remember if it
was 4 times or 2 times).

When I said that 4 pumpings yielded 1.5 oz, I did not mean that she
ONLY pumped 4 times between Days 5 and 7, just that in the previous 4
pumping sessions, she only got a total of 1.5 oz. She did pump at
least 8 times in 24 hours starting on Day 5.

The information that I left her with on Day 7 was to nurse the baby
first at every feeding; then give the baby up to 1.5 oz of formula,
using paced bottle feeding (which the LC in the hospital had
instructed her on). I also recommended that she continue to pump as
much as she was able to, using medium suction and very short
durations. I am hoping that the baby triggers MERs better than the
pump, so as to push milk out as well as the negative pressure sucking
it out. I will see her again on Tuesday, and I also plan to speak
with her this weekend. I forgot to mention that I have her
permission to post.

I really appreciate your help! I will suggest the More Milk Plus to
the mom. I just have a strong feeling that the milk is in there,
maybe not a full supply, but for some reason it is not coming out,
and this is the biggest danger to her supply.

Lynnette
