I have been in this situation myself only my husband stayed in bed with us!
I got pg and needed the night feedings to stop so that I could get some
sleep! My son was about 18 months when we started our night weaning
process. My son too wanted to nurse all night long and it drove me up a
tree. We started by just telling him that there would be no "boob" until it
was daylight again. I nursed him to sleep and then kept a sippie cup full
of water on my night table. When he woke up I reminded him that there was
no boob until it was light out, and I handed him the cup of water.
Honestly, this took probably a good week of no one getting much sleep and
then something clicked, he decided that he didn't want to wake up for water
anymore and he just started sleeping through.
