Hi, it has been over a year since I have posted but I have a quick question.

An former client is getting a chemical peel (only on her face) called the Vitalize
Peel and her doctor told her she couldn't breastfeed for several days
afterwards. The peel only takes a few minutes and she will have it done at 3
week intervals 3 times.

It contains a "Special formulation includes a unique blend of peeling agents:
alpha-hydroxy acids, beta-hydroxy acids, resorcinol, and retinoic acid
(obtained by physician)" these all seem ok from what I recall since they are
topical and I searched Tom Hale's site and didn't find anything contraindicated.

But since stepping back for the past year from actively doing much with
breastfeeding for personal, family reasons, I do not have the new Hale and
wondered if anyone has any information that may be pertinant. I think the
doctor is just following the old "if you are pregnant or nursing..." line but
wanted to double check. (She is also being told she will have to WEAN before
she has her knee surgery in April!! I will definitaly have a new book by the time
that happens!) The doctors are so quick to have mothers stop breastfeeding.

Thank you so much for any help you can give.
