I believe IC is standard/required by JCAHO (the hospital accrediting
organization in the US).  I believe there is an ILCA representative
on JCAHO.  Wouldn't it be great if one of the standards could be
that every hospital that delivers babies (or perhaps even cares for
them, delivering or not) would be required to have IBCLC
staffing/availability proportionate to their numbers!  How might we
work toward this goal?
