Sharon, it was my experience in working with southeast asian refugees, that
when they were at home they all breastfed.  Everyone did and they saw it
everywhere.  When they came here they never SAW anyone breastfeeding and
they saw formula advertising. So they assumed that nobody breastfed here.
 In their desire to be modern and to adapt to their new culture, they
decided that formula was the way it was done here and bottle fed babies
born here.  One Hmong man told me "My wife breastfed six children."  I said
"Oh, that's great!"  Then he said "After we came here she breastfed the
