What a fantastic opportunity? How much time will you have? If it
were me, I would have a very hard time keeping my comments short,
but I know that that is important. Whet their appetites and leave
them wanting more. Also leave them with resources to learn more.
I think comparisons such as why it isn't ethical for docs to endorse
a cigarette for example might ring a bell with the audience. I
would probably talk about how ironic it is that an industry feels it
has a right to appear to promote it's primary competitor. Help them
think about what the ultimate goal of ABM companies is-if they don't
sell product, they are failing their stockholders and stockholders
could have a case for misuse of money! I would definitely recommend
Marsha Walker's "selling out babies" booklet to show just how
pervasive the influence of the ABM companies is.
Good luck. Please let us know what you do decide to include and the
response of the class.

Winnie
