Hi everyone,
Thanks to all of you who took the time to answer me re: the baby who was not
gaining well. Good news :) - Since Tuesday, the baby has gained 6 ounces.
What we've been doing is pumping sometimes after and sometimes between feeds
depending on when mom can do it. I taught mom how to cup feed and baby was
getting whatever milk was pumped. Today we will work harder at seeing that the
baby learns to do a good job, herself with emptying the breast. Mom is really
exxcited and I am greatly relieved with the weight gain. As an interesting
side note. The mom saw the ped. this morning, who was also very pleased with
the gain. She asked him if he had ever heard of cup feeding a newborn and he
said no. He though it was a great idea and told the mom that he learned
something new today.
I hope you all have a nice week-end.
Yaffa
