I've searched the Archives, checked Dr. Hales web site and now I am coming
to you for information on the safety of taking Trileptal while
breastfeeding. The patient is due mid March. Based on the patient
information sheet that comes with the med and the pharmacist, the answer
has been "no" to breastfeeding with this med. She had a very severe
allergic reaction to Dilantin so that drug is out. Tegretol might be an
option, but since she is tolerating Trilepal drug, the patient would prefer
not to switch if she doesn't have to. Her current dose is 300 mg in AM and
600 mg at HS. If you could repond privately, it would help me. Thank you.
