I'm a relatively new Lactnet subscriber, working in an NICU which is
attemtping to increase its breastfeeding support for families. I'm very
grateful for all of the information on the list--I'm learning lots.

A colleague of mine (N. Lavergne) published a study she conducted
comparing the use of tea bags for nipple healing versus warm water
compresses. The study was published in JOGNN, 1996 or 1997 I believe.
Sorry I don't have the exact citation--it would be listed in CINAHL and
in MEDLINE. Her findings? Tea bags did not enhance wound
healing--something which had been commonly taught in our institution for
many years.
