Edie,

I have have told several women in my county about metaclopromide. Three
women in one day (all at one time came in wishing to relactate, each for
various reasons. One doctor in town prescribed it for these three women, in
one day. (I live in the relactation capital of the world).

I also issued each of them an electric pump (double/universal kit) from a
major company. The pump is a smaller version than the classic hospital grade
pump. Each reported increases in milk production. One felt her full
production had returned. Hers is an interesting story (she awoke from an
operation...in the ER...while it was still continuing - and consequently ?
lost her milk- very odd). But, her milk was back after not breastfeeding for
almost two weeks. Unfortunately, baby was very reluctant to return to breast
and mom was not into assertive style to get him back on . But, she pumped
and supplied adequate calories for about a month longer.

I have since contacted each woman, none felt any depression resulted from
the drug. The dosage was as suggested in the Ameda Egnell *circle of caring*
article.
