<< A lady with renal failure due to a variant of Alports
syndrome is maintained on regular peritoneal dialysis.Having become
pregnant, she has now been delivered of a 28 week infant now under my care, age
6 days. The reason for the early delivery was elective because of technical
problems with CAPD and the enlarging uterus.
She would like to express breast milk for her baby, and as far as I can see
,is not on any drugs which would preclude
 this.(ranitidine,titralac,iron,senna,1alpha,EPO)
Her nephrologist has said to her that she should not breast feed because of
the creatinine in the milk.I do not know of evidence that this would in fact
be harmful, especially balanced against the benefits of own milk for a 29
weeker. Can anyone help or advise? >>

Any suggestions or comments?
TIA
Andrew MD
