Who could say no to a list-mother? (I knew there was a reason I read
Lactnet this a.m. before doing my translations...) Of course, I am sure
others were thinking the same thing, and can't wait to read more.
Subject: Blessings To and From Lactnet
Lactnet has been a true blessing for me.

You know you have been spending time on Lactnet when ...
* You offer to send a note of introduction to a new e-mail discussion

group, and someone says, "Oh, we've read your posts on Lactnet."
* You are talking to a mother about a complicated situation and you
remember that Linda Smith said "Rule no. 1 is the mother is always
right" and you are sure that Rule no. 2 is remember what you read on
Lactnet.
* You are preparing for the IBLCE exam and you think that the reading

list consists of the archives and the current posts, until you remember
the books Lactnetters have written.
* You want to put the List-mothers' phone numbers under the emergency

contact numbers for your child's school registration.
* You contact other Lactnetters before you go to a new destination so

that you can see what they look like and catch up on your digests in
their home.
* You arrange your coffee breaks around Lactnet's quiet times
* You arrange your holidays in such a way as to see other Lactnetters

at conferences or in their homes
* You phone or e-mail your best friends to discuss the most
intriguing threads.

These days, I treasure Lactnet most not for its information -- still
fabulous -- but for the support it continues to give me. Reading Lactnet

reassures me that there are committed, talented, ethical and passionate
people who are dedicated to helping mothers breastfeed. The Listmothers
are exemplary in this respect -- not only do they help helpers help
mothers, but they help helpers help each other.

I feel so lucky that I have been invited into their living room. We are
treated with such respect, such consideration, such sensitivity.

Blessings to Lactnet.
