At my very first LLL meeting, I met a mother with an eight month old
daughter. Baby was a little on the small side (as was my 35 wk preterm baby)
so I asked mom about it. This baby was born at 26 weeks gestation, weighed 1
lb 10 oz, and spent 102 days in the hospital. She was fully breastfed when I
met her, and weighed 13 lbs. I recall that mom pumped milk for baby, stored
it at hospital, and bmilk was fed to baby thru tube. Baby was gorgeous. It
was a wonderful thing indeed.
