Verbal children who are weaning (age 4 - 5) have often reported in my
presence to their mothers that they need some water after a breastfeeding
because it tastes "salty". Not a complaint, they just are reporting.

So I had assumed (and here is the non-researcher talking) that milk DID
become higher in sodium as babies wean - and if a baby is nursing a mom
whose milk supply is compromised, wouldn't it, also be higher in sodium?
