Ladies, I have a question from our LC group concerning probiotics and
antibiotics. Would you, or do you, recommend a mother to get probiotics when
she is taking and antibiotic to treat mastitis? We are updating our
breastfeeding handouts, and this came up. Is there any research that supports
this action? One of the LC's does tell mothers to do this. Thought it would
be better to have evidence of if this is within practice or not. Any help
would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance! Brenda Enfield, RN (waiting
for the 24t and test results!)
