Woo, lucky you!

Can you turn this instruction around onto the babywise book? Say for example
that the lack of medical grounding in the book itself should instantly
disallow its presentation in your hospital?
(sorry, I had to say that)

I haven't had any luck finding a direct statement against Babywise in the
AAP archives. However, the media alert below (which you've received hundreds
of times by now) specifically states that babies fed on a "schedule designed
by parents may put babies ar risk for poor weight gain and dehydration"

http://www.ezzo.info/AAP/aap_media_alert.htm

Given that weighty statement, I would say that you could can all baby books
that recommend schedule feeding, not just Babywise.

Surely the way you would present would be something along the lines of "This
is the recommendation by the AAP at the moment. Clearly any book that
recommends scheduled feeding is one that could put your baby at risk. The
only way you'll know if your baby will settle into a routine is after he or
she is born, and you get into some sort of routine (which your baby will
tell you about)"

Good luck.

Dan
