Hi All,

I have a mom 5 weeks post partum. She has had an extra nipple on her torso
in a direct line down from her regular nipple. Of course all was fine, she
was only bothered cosmetically. Wanted to have it removed before her
wedding but never found the time.

Now, at five weeks, she says it is really bothering her. It had not in the
immediate postpartum period. She describes feeling a tugging and tingling
(I am assuming MER feeling) there, but never sees any milk on the surface.

It is bothering her a lot. She wants to know if it is possible to have such
a thing removed? I did not think that would solve the tingling, etc if the
whole milk line is still there, but I have no experience with one that was
bothersome to someone.

In the meantime would cabbage and ice be the way to go?

Why did this not bother in the first 5 weeks? I would think the initial
fullness would be the most painful time.

Can anyone shed light on this?

Please email me privately as well as to the list as I am having trouble
keeping up with posts lately.

Thanks.,

Jessica Billowitz, IBCLC
