In my recent studing for the exam on Mon I was reading about the 3 hr
schedule for premies.  The idea is not to wake up the baby more often than
every 3 hours since they are releaseing the growth hormones and growing is
very important.  I guess since this is the "standard of practice" to help
the babies grow, no one stops to think if the baby is now waking on his/her
own more often because of hunger  -  feed them.

Oh well, maybe stressing to the parents the reason for the 3 hour feeding
(let sleeping baby release as much growth hormone as possible) is no longer
valid if the baby is crying and rooting (no longer releasing growth hormone,
now just burning calories).
